Maia Hixon

Board Co-President

Maia is an early childhood educator, all around community volunteer, and parent of two young children. She coordinates event-planning at Families for Climate and is working to bolster the group’s volunteer outreach and support.

Leonard Barrett


Board Co-President


(He/him)

Leonard is a principal at Beam Development in Portland, and father of two. He focuses on organizational development and building the Parent Climate Advocacy Network (PCAN).

Katie Hutchinson

Board Member

(She/her)

Katie Hutchinson currently serves as Campaign Manager at Willamette Falls Trust. She is curious about the confluence of creativity, community building, spirituality, and ecological justice. Katie and her partner are parents to a young daughter.

 

Paula Cano


Board Member


(She/her)

Paula is a curriculum coordinator, teacher and instructional coach. She is mother of two young children and co-led the Climate Defender Kids program.

Christine Lewis

Board Member
(She/her)

Christine is mother to two young kiddos and has a background in government, politics, social policy, and organizational development. She loves finding new ways to engage families to help shape policy to protect Oregon's environment and our planet's future. 

Amelia Johnson

Board Member

(She/Her)

Amelia is a mom and a coordinator of salmon and watershed planning resources. She is a new board member, and is excited to connect her passion for everyday actions like biking and gardening to big picture community and policy efforts.

Amber is an event planner, creative director, and business owner. She is mother of two, is passionate about garden education and loves planning Earth Day celebrations.

Nora Lehmann


Board Co-President (on sabbatical)


(She/her)

Nora Lehmann is a artist. She earned her MFA in painting from Yale, and taught studio art at the college level for over a decade before refocusing and joining the climate movement. She has two young children and focuses on policy and communications.

Noelle Studer-Spevak


(She/they)

Noelle mothers two children and loves weaving community pathways toward a just and healthy future. She served in Peace Corps West Africa and formerly worked in the higher ed. sustainability field. Noelle helps people cool their neighborhoods and go fossil free in Portland and beyond.

Caleb is a college-level equity and geography educator, environmental justice organizer, and parent of an elementary-age child. They lead internal JEDI board development.
