Celebrate Earth Day With Us

We hope you will join us this Saturday, April 22nd from 3-5pm for a free, community Earth Day celebration in the Scott Elementary school garden in NE Portland (6700 NE Prescott)

We will be celebrating the Earth with music, art making, hands-on learning, and by sharing lots of ways to make your home, school and community more climate friendly, green and efficient! Walk or ride your bike if you can!

In collaboration with Growing Gardens, Making Earth Cool, Electrify PDX, and Safe Routes to School, the event will feature all these fun activities:

  • Hands-on learning for all ages in the garden-pollinators, compost, tree planting, raising chickens, a honey taste test, and more!

  • Live music!

  • Recycled art-making led by Making Earth Cool!

  • Free saplings, seeds, and seedlings! (while supplies last)

  • Used clothing drive for the PPS clothing closet, which provides clothing to PPS families in need across the district. Donate gently used and clean clothing, shoes, and coats that can be gifted to students ages 5-18.

  • Families for Climate info about shade equity, the legislative session, and more!

  • Info and engagement tables from our friends at: Electrify PDX, Making Earth Cool, Columbia Slough Watershed Council, Talk about Trees, and PBOT’s Safe Routes to School.

Join us and bring your buddies along. Send this information and share these flyers with your school community!
