As Covid vaccinations rolled out this spring and excitement built with the prospect of social activities resuming at last, there was much excited online chatter about "Hot Girl Summer." But after the bleak and deadly heat dome event in the Pacific Northwest, and the Bootleg and Elbow Creek fires currently raging in Oregon, we can only say, in profound dismay, "Not like that!"
